Announcing Procurement Academy!

Procurement Services is pleased to offer the following new courses to assist faculty and staff on procurement to payment procedures, and data analysis.  You may register for any of these course dates through the new Training & Resource Center, https://MyTRC.uth.tmc.edu.

 

  1. Procurement Academy - Customer Resources (Link to PowerPoint presentation)

This course is designed to inform UTHSCH faculty and staff what resources are available to them for procuring goods and services.  Topics to include:  Purchasing Handbook and Procurement Procedures, Procurement Website, eShip Global, SciQuest Catalog, UT Supply Mall, Contracts, and the Procurement Management Program.  Discussions will highlight ways to expedite the ordering process.

  1. Procurement Academy – Purchases Over $5K and Contracting (Link to PowerPoint presentation)

This course is designed to inform UTHSCH faculty and staff of the procurement process for purchases of goods and services greater than $5,000.00 in accordance with state and agency policies and procedures.  Topics to include:  Authority to obligate, Types of purchases and contracts, State/Local/DIR contracts, Sole Source/ Proprietary Purchases, special purchases, ITB/RFP/RFQ/RFI bidding processes, and terms and conditions.

  1. Procurement Academy – FMS Data Analysis:
    For Microsoft Office Excel 2003 users: (Link to PowerPoint presentation)
    For Microsoft Office Excel 2007 users: (Link to PowerPoint presentation)

This training course is for administrators who need to run reports and queries from FMS.  The course explains the difference between reports and queries.  Strategies for creating private queries are discussed.  Further analysis of query data using pivot tables in Microsoft Excel is explained.  The course is hands-on training with each student having access to a computer and working through real-life examples.

  1. Procurement Academy – Making the Decision to Pay (Link to PowerPoint presentation)

This training course is for FMS users who process payments in the UTHSC business unit via PO or Non-PO voucher from FMS.  This course explains the difference between the PO and Non-PO Process.  Purchasing and payment procedural requirements, State guidelines and HOOP guidelines are explained for each process.  This course does not involve hands-on training.

  1. Procurement Academy – Buycard & Vendor Code:

BUYCARD PROGRAM: This course is designed to teach basic concepts and familiarize UTHSC BuyCard users with the functionality of the E-procurement module.  The course will also provide an awareness of UTHSC-H BuyCard policies and procedures, which are designed to ensure program integrity.

VENDOR REQUEST: This course is designed to teach basic concepts and familiarize Requestors with the Vendor Request entries into the UT Add & Change Request in FMS. The course will provide an awareness of the university's policies and procedures, which were designed to ensure program integrity.
